CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The position holder will provide support to communication teams in planning, organizing and implementation of media, communication, and visibility related activities to ensure quality reporting to donors/stakeholders.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Media:
- Responsible for media activities of the Country Office, including:
- maintaining regular media relations,
- ensuring media placements and pitching stories
- preparing for media interviews of CO staff,
- media monitoring and drafting of press materials.
- Provide any other support required to ensure smooth execution of media activities.
Communications:
- Assist in developing content and communications materials such as, case studies, scripts, IEC material, publications, newsletters, bulletins, concept notes, visibility material, audio/video material, photo essays etc.
- Develop content and captions for social media accounts of the CO and provide support in scheduling posts, moderation of comments, and compilation of reports.
- Conduct advanced social media analytics as well as data collection and reporting on other campaign modalities.
- Assist in the development, tracking and ensuring quality of effective advocacy and media products including project documentaries, TVCs, radio shows etc.Assist media and communication related coordination with external partners including government, partners, NGOs, media and civil society, volunteers etc.
- Provide regular input in project proposals.
- Conduct regular training of project staff on communication and branding protocols of the Country Office.
- Regularly review branding materials from partner staff and CO office staff for various projects and activities.
- Assist in organizing events and conferences, including development of visibility material, event media coverage, and development and dissemination of press releases.
- Conduct regular field missions to develop case studies and communications material.
- Supports field assessment data collection, analysis and report compilation.
- Assist in planning and organizing donor visits.
- Draft quality inputs for and coordinate the finalization of all monthly reports for projects.
- Assist in preparing Weekly, Quarterly and Annual Progress Reports
- Acquire and disseminate updated information regarding donor formats (proposals and reports) and other donor related information.
- Ensure SC’s branding compliance and represent Communication Team policies and guidelines across all materials.
- Support Advocacy and Communications Team in carrying out their functions/tasks/activities, as & when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in communications, Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences or any other relevant area of study.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- At least 5 years of experience working as a media and communications professional for a non-profit, for- profit, or government agency; or related professional experience.
- Must be proficient in writing and content development, particularly in English. Knowledge of the local language and ability to do translations is an advantage.
- Excellent English writing skills is mandatory for this position and will be evaluated during the recruitment process.
- Ability and experience to work in fast paced environment and under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Good photography, videography skills, and video editing is an asset.
