Job Description


As a skilled and motivated Release Manager you will lead our release team consisting of 4-6 members.

You will play a crucial role in coordinating releases and hotfixes across more than 25 environments, including 5 production environments, while maintaining a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences. Your expertise and leadership will ensure seamless and efficient delivery of software releases to meet business objectives and exceed customer expectations.

  • Manage and lead the customer-facing release team of 4-6 members, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain a customer-centric release schedule, considering dependencies, resource availability, and business priorities.
  • Coordinate release activities, including planning, preparation, and execution of software deployments, while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including development, testing, and customer support, to ensure smooth and timely releases that meet customer requirements.
  • Implement and improve customer-focused release management processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and minimize risks.
  • Monitor and track release progress, identifying and resolving issues and roadblocks to ensure minimal disruption to customers.
  • Manage communication and provide regular updates to stakeholders and customers regarding release status, changes, and risks.
  • Oversee the implementation of hotfixes and urgent patches across multiple environments, with a keen eye on minimizing customer impact.
  • Conduct post-release reviews and gather customer feedback to continuously improve release processes and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong administration and organisational skills, with the ability to effectively manage complex release schedules, dependencies, and resources.
  • Proven experience in coordinating and managing complex projects, demonstrating strong leadership and the ability to drive results.
  • Solid technical background and understanding of software development processes and methodologies, enabling effective communication with technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to prioritise and handle multiple concurrent releases, deadlines, and customer demands.
